- When performing intervals, each swim without stopping distance is called a repetition of repetitions groups called series. For example, if repetitions of 100 meters swim in a pool of 25 meters, the pool will travel four times without a break from one repetition to another.
- The intervals are expressed as the number of lengths swum, multiplied by the length of the pool, multiplied by the time between outputs. For example, you might decide to swim 10 x 100 x 1:50, which would swim 10 repetitions of 100 meters each year beginning 1 minute 50 seconds after previous. The faster you swim each series, the more you can relax during each interval.
Options for swimming training intervals
- You can swim series of decreasing intervals in which the interval between each exercise is reduced. For example, you can make the first three years of a series of ten in 1 minute and 50 seconds, the next three in 1 minute and 40 seconds and the last 1 minute and 20 seconds. After taking a longer break and no late recurrence as soon as possible.
- Another alternative is to swim in graded series, which will vary the distances of the repetitions. For example, you can swim 50, 100, 150.250 and 300 meters in a series of six. To calculate the interval for each repetition, you can use a constant rest interval of 30 seconds for example, intervals between each exercise.
